What is the heart of Perry Road Baptist Church?

At Perry Road Baptist Church, our mission is to cultivate an authentic community, deeply rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, living out our identity in Him in our daily lives as we make disciples who will then go and make disciples.

What that means for us:

We exist to cultivate an authentic community.

We believe many people have been burned by church or Christians before, and often need to see we really believe what we say. An authentic community is one that actually lives out our Christian values.

We exist to help people develop deep roots in Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the only hope for a lost and dying world. When people know Jesus and draw closer to Him as they read His Word, they experience His love, grace and majesty. Because Jesus is the only help and hope for us, we want people to be deeply rooted in Him.

We exist to live out our identity in Christ in our daily lives.

No one is unchanged after meeting Jesus. Whether we reject Him or we accept Him as Savior and Lord. His Word is Truth, the only message we can trust. He is also our example. Our job is to help people live out the life Jesus calls us to, following the example Jesus set.

We exist to make disciples who will then go and make disciples.

Jesus’ last words were a command to go and make disciples and teach them to obey all his commands. A disciple is an open and teachable learner. When fully trained, a disciple will live out a life like Christ.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

– Ephesians 3:17

Our Pastor

David Worcester

Dave Worcester grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus as a child during Vacation Bible School. Over the years he has served in Missions and Children’s Ministries and also as an Elder at Faith Baptist Church in Rexford. After a 20 year career in the home decorating field, Dave felt God’s call to go into full time ministry.

He served as Area Director in College Ministry with Campus Renewal from 2013-2017 and then started Connect Pointe Ministries in 2017 when Campus Renewal reorganized. He was ordained in 2019 by Messenger Fellowship. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree at Luther Rice Seminary, and divides his time between Connect Pointe, and serving as part-time pastor at Perry Road Baptist Church.

Dave and his wife, Melissa, are the parents of two adult boys.

Dave’s life verse is Philippians 4:13, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
